Standard Curtain Lenghts

How should you determine the ideal length for your curtains?

Curtains typically come in standard lengths of 63, 84, 96, 108, and 120 inches, while their width is usually around 48 inches.

The appropriate curtain length also depends on the style you prefer:

Float: These curtains hang just above the floor, offering a clean, straight appearance. For this style, ensure that the curtains hang less than an inch above the floor to avoid an awkward look.

Kiss: This style involves curtains that lightly touch the floor. Achieving the kiss style requires precise measurements for both the curtain length and the curtain rods, as well as the length of curtain rings.

Puddle: Puddle curtains are slightly longer, creating a luxurious "puddle" effect on the floor. This style exudes a romantic, old-world charm and works well with rich fabrics like lined drapery, velvet, or linen. It's ideal for traditional and formal spaces.

Keep in mind that puddle curtains require more maintenance as they can easily collect dirt, dust, and pet dander. They are also less convenient to open and close, so they might not be suitable for high-traffic areas.
